Committed to Discovery

ABOUT ROY'S ROOTS
For the past eleven years I have been exploring my family's history and roots. What started out as a simple exercise to discover who my Great Grandparents were and where they came from has evolved into a true passion in my life.
I found that as I peeled back each new layer of my family's onion, I became more and more addicted to the process of discovery. Over the years I have traced and documented my ancestors' migration through settlements on the East Coast of Canada back to our ancestral homes in Ireland and Scotland. I have explored the branches and leaves of my extended family tree, even finding a few nuts along the way.
Realizing that I needed to evolve my research to a more formal and structured approach, I studied Genealogy at Seneca College in Toronto under the tutelage of Ian Hadden.
I am an Member of the Ontario Genealogical Society, the New Brunswick Genealogical Society, the Prince Edward Island Genealogical Society and the New Hampshire Society of Genealogists.
As well, through my military background I am a Life Member of the Royal Regiment of Canada Association and a Member of the Hong Kong Veterans Commemorative Association.
